 Funding Your Club

This workshop provides practical ideas for raising funds from a range of sources, including fund-raising events and sponsorship.

Every sports club could use more money and better publicity. This workshop provides practical ideas for raising funds from a range of sources, including fund-raising events and sponsorship. It will also help you to identify how you can promote your club more effectively.

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • develop a project mindful of the national agenda for sport and the funding opportunities available
  • identify the barriers to successful funding applications
  • identify sources of funding, including grants, sponsorship and general fund-raising
  • assess whether the Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) scheme or having Charitable status could be potential sources of additional revenue
  • identify the information required to develop a funding plan
  • describe ways of evaluating the effectiveness of their project.

Valuing Your Sports Volunteers

This workshop will help you to recruit more volunteers, motivate, retain, reward and manage them even more effectively.

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Develop an understanding of the importance of volunteers in English Sport
  • Promote coordinated planning for Volunteer recruitment, retention, reward and recognition
  • Identify what clubs and sports organisations should do to prepare themselves to receive new young volunteers, and the type of roles they can undertake.
  • Help build support mechanisms and links
  • Gain commitment for ongoing volunteer development

Safeguarding & Protecting Children

Every week thousands of youngsters happily and safely participate in the care of dedicated sports coaches and volunteers. To ensure that good work continues in a safe environment, organisers, cioaches and parents must be aware of child protection issues. Increased parental and media concern for the welfare of children in sport will lead to direct questions being asked of you.

How do you find the right answers?

This course offers the answers and gives volunteers the confidence to work safely with young people

In Safe Hands

This Workshop is delivered by Children 1st and has been developed to support those identified in sports clubs as Child Protection Officers.

This course aims to ensure that:

1. participants aquire the core knowledge and devlop the skills to fulfil the role of child protection officer for their club.

2. Help clubs implement practices and procedures to keep children & young people safe
